Thomas moved to Derbyshire in 1999, after returning from glassblowing in New Zealand for three years. His designs, are influenced by many things, including the countryside of both Derbyshire & his home County, East Sussex , as well as his love of Urbex photography, with a particular fascination in textures and architecture. Thomas is best known for his abstract land and seascapes trailed pieces, which started with 'Moors' in the early 90's & more recently his 'Sea Shore' ranges
