John Creed is a highly respected maker, working in both precious and non-precious metals. He creates large and small pieces for both domestic and public settings. His interest lies in ‘resonating the metal’. The physicality of the processes of metal working is important to Creed, who says that the ease of ‘drawing’ in three dimensions through hot forging is ‘magic’ to him.

John Creed’s intention is to explore the external and internal spaces of an idea and develop the form towards the interface between expression and function. He is particularly intrigued by the configuration of junctions especially when bringing together dissimilar materials. With his designs Creed hopes to stimulate other sensibilities beyond just vision. Whatever the scale he am conscious of how the work will inhabit its immediate and wider surroundings and the interaction it will have with the viewer.
