Fly Me To The Moon (Jars)

Acclaimed ceramicists reinterpret the Korean moon jar

These Moon Jars from our ceramists at Contemporary Applied Arts are truly out of this world! This week we're celebrating how one shape in ceramics can be interpreted so differently by our talented CAA makers. Visit us at our Marylebone Gallery or browse online!

These large porcelain jars have  voluminous and globular bodies, evoking images of a full moon and thus today jars of this type are called “moon jars.”

Works from Akiko Hirai, Gabriele Koch, Hilary Mayo, Lise Herud Braten and Delfina Emmanuel.

We have also recently opened our New Maker applications, to learn more about the process and apply to become part of CAA visit our website.
