Simone ten Hompel is one of the most respected and influential sliversmiths working in Britain today. She is continually fascinated by the materiality of her discipline and explores objects both functional and poetic through the very visceral act of making with her hands. As she says: “Metal is my first language”. She was awarded the Jerwood Prize for Applied Arts: Metal in 2005.
